This is our favorite place to get pizza from in the area. When we eat there instead of getting take out, the staff are attentive, patient and friendly. My only complaint and suggestion would be to consider using less salt. The pizzas that we have gotten lately are so salty that we haven't been able to finish the pizza. It's not just the pizzas as we have tried other dishesand have had the same problem. In my opinion there is just too much unnecessary salt being used in their food

Loved the Lasagna! I thought I wrote a review in August, but I don't think it uploaded on my phone. I've been coming here a lot for since July. Every time, my fiance and I would get the same thing: Lasagna and a salad with Creamy Pesto dressing. I've had really good lasagna, but Vince's blows a lot of them out of the water. I tried the chicken saltimbocca once, but it was too salty for my taste. Decent, but not one of my favorites. I haven't tried their famous pizzas yet, because I everything I come in, I would smell other table's lasagna, and it overwrites my decision for pizza. :)

Stumbled upon this place after stopping at many restaurants. So glad to have found this family restaurant. Tried the spicy pasta and sausage dish. Delicious! Eggplant Parmesan was also delicious. They offered it without pasta too.

Blah, that's all there is to say. The gross, hard "breadsticks" offend me. The prices for the bland food disgust me. Blllllllaaaaaaaaaahhh!

Went on a Saturday night. Place had a good crowd, but got a seat right away. Waitress was awesome! Great service. I had the Chicken Marsala which was real good. My daughter had ravioli, which was so-so. Decor was outdated and they offer hard bread sticks is plastic wrappers. Warm fresh bread would have been nice.

Our family has been going to Vinces for over 35 years. It always feels like home when we come in, love the pasta and sauces! Their pizza is my favorite, the crust is yummy.

The last two times I have been here I have been greatly disappointed. Cold bread, coupons that have a maximum value of $15 dollars despite being advertised as half off, and slow service are only the tip of the iceberg. On my first visit, the food was cold and unsatisfactory. The pizza was dripping in grease and not what I expected from my childhood favorite restaurant. The service had been very slow even though it was a slow night and I was one of only four groups of customers. The second visit, the bread was cold, food was mildly warm but not hot. The server was thankfully prompt with coffee refills and bread refills, however there were on occasions periods of delay between the refills that were lengthier than necessary. The food was also processed incorrectly, with mushrooms being added to the order in addition to olives, however we had specifically requested olives and meat with no mushrooms. Adding to this already low level of satisfaction, was the fact that our coupon which was buy one get one free with the purchase of two beverages, wasn't honored - a $15 dollar credit was issued against the total cost rather than against the second dish - rendering our expected cost significantly higher than expected. After being zero for two, I cannot in good faith recommend this establishment to anyone moving forward until changes are made.

We ordered the sausage stuffed rigatoni and gnocchi. I really liked the sausage and rigatoni. I ordered with the marinara and sausage. You pay a little extra the the added sausages, but you get 2 Italian links. The are really good. The marinara taste fresh. By brother wasn't so thrilled with his gnocchi. He has always had it pan fried and browned up. They serve it just boiled with sauce and chunks of mozzarella. He has to take it home and recook it. I actually thought it was good as is.

While visiting the Sea-Tac area met a friend at this establishment last Sunday right at opening, which was 12 noon. Service was a tad slow due to an employee had forgot to set her clock ahead. No problem, we've all been there. Or friend had his usual, cheese Ravioli with marinara sauce that looked tasty and simple. My bride had the all you can eat Minestrone with small salad. Did I say "small", meant big! our friend and my meal also included salad and I opted for the Roquefort, delicious! My main course was linguini con vongole (clams and linguini) with a delicious light red sauce, yummo! My only issues are the clams were small, but tasty and they give you a lot and the Mrs Minestrone wasn't! It was vegetable soup, good but no beans or pasta in it. The staff was attentive and place was nicely decorated in Italian themes.

The food is great, and I love the family owned feel. I would much rather support a great local eatery than a huge cooperation. Great place for sure.

The food is good and the atmosphere is enjoyable but there are a few areas that could use improvement. Service from Shawn was excellent. My wife and I decided to split the Pollo Contadina and they did it in the kitchen for us. The sauce was flavorful and it was a delicious meal for $15.99. A large pitcher of Peroni beer made slightly more than 4 pint glasses and seemed a good value. The Calamari Fritti was some of the best we have ever had, lightly breaded, hot and flavorful. The red and whites sauces complemented it perfectly. Our complaint is that for $10.99, we would have expected a full soup bowl of calamari with the sauces served on the side. Instead, the sauce cups were placed in the bowl and we only got a relative small portion for a high price. The bread was good enough to have seconds but it was soft white freshly baked French bread instead of chewy Italian bread or freshly baked rolls that one might expect in an Italian restaurant. The dinner came with a small salad which was adequate but nothing special. We ordered a second one for $3.49. A few croutons to dress it up might have been nice. Do not order the blue cheese dressing. It was thin, watery and had little taste. The Moca Decadance cake was memorable and a good value at $5.99, more than enough to split. Bottom line is we will be back but we will be wary of overpriced appetizers, blue cheese dressing and run of the mill salad.

Went here yesterday for lunch with a friend. Neither of us had been to a Vinces in years & we both are fans. Was slightly disappointed by the small lunch menu. Prices for a dish of pasta with salad or soup averaged $8.50 My friend had the delicious chicken marsala with mushrooms. I really wish I would have ordered that. Super flavorful. I had the fettuccine with alfredo sauce & ham. Really wish it had peas like the traditional dish. I'd go again but think I'd go for dinner so I could use the Entertainment Book coupon. Decor of restaurant very pleasant. Good service by an attentive waitress.

Service is 3-4 stars, but the food is 2. The sauce is oily and salty, the meatballs are good, but the filled pasta is bland and tastes like pre-made frozen. This might of passed for decent Italain 30 years ago, but now not so much. A reformulation and update is in order. Have been twice and been disappointed each time.

I ordered the eggplant parmigiana meal. Way too salty and oily for my liking. I'm assuming the only difference between the appetizer and meal is that the meal probably has a few more slices of eggplant and bread, which wasn't even that great. Not worth another trip in my opinion.

This restaurant houses my favorite Italian style dish ever. Chicken Contadina. Oh man...I would take a bath in the sauce alone. Seriously, if you haven't tried it yet, you must. Yum!!! I've been coming here with my family since I was 8 years old, and nothing about this place has ever changed, except the staff. The service here is always good, except when it's great. The food is consistently fantastic, and they are always willing to accommodate any weird requests or substitutions we need. Be warned, if you have a coupon, they don't accept them on most major holidays (mother's day included). We learned that one the hard way. Also, the prices are a little steep, which is the reason I'm rating it 4 stars instead of 5. But even with the slightly high prices, it's definitely worth the drive.

Have been going to Vince's for at least 10 years. If you are expecting Olive Garden, you are going to be pleasantly surprised - this is real, homemade, Italian food, not some garbage that is manufactured in a corporate boardroom somewhere like at OG. Generally a good value (most entrees at dinner are between $10-15), the Monday Night Special is amazing - 2 salads or soups, 2 pastas, a small pizza, and two ice creams, for $21.95 (used to be $17.95 a couple years ago, then $19.95, now recently increased again, kind of sad about that, but still a good deal). Other favorites absolutely include the gnocci alla sorrentina is amazing (fresh mozzarella, basil, so good!), the lasagna is great, the fettuccine alla caprese is awesome (go for ham, it is Italian and good), and the calzone...it is insane, don't even get me started. It can get busy, and then you can end up waiting a bit...it can get noisy, this is a family place. If you're expecting something else, either super fancy, or super corporate, go somewhere else and take your bad reviews with you.

A few of us stopped in here for dinner on a Saturday evening. The service was impeccable and the food was delicious. I thought the prices were on the high side for the portions though. We had gnocchi, ravioli, and fishermans stew. All of us thought the food was great, but the portion sizes and prices were not in line. We would probably go back.

Stopped in for a happy hour pizza and beer. I have come to Vinces for over 40 years (rainier beach area). Love the pie here. Today we had the clam dish and we were pleasantly surprised. Go to the bar and if Molly is working you'll have a great time. She provides great service and is a great bartender.

Since the demise of our Rainier Beach venue, I hadn't been to a Vince's in many years. We were on our way to a play in Federal Way so were able to be doorbusters at 11:00 for a quick lunch. Made our way over to the bar side, where they have happy hour all day. On sale: the caesar salad, mixed greens with prosciutto, garlic cheese bread, and individual pizzas. They still start you out with the requisite bread sticks and packets of hard butter that you have to knead in your palm before using. Although everything was good, I have two little nits: leave the garlic bread in the oven/broiler for a bit longer so it's heated throughout; par-cook the bacon before you use it on the pizza so it's not so jiggly.

There have only been a few places that we've ventured into, and left without ordering, and this was one of them. This place could seriously benefit from being on "Restaurant Impossible". First off this place looks fairly big, like a perfect place for a group, or large families, but it was not a place I'd recommend going to. It's dark, not even in a dark romantic type way, but in a creepy way. The decor was ok, nothing exciting, and I don't recall hearing any background noise like Italian music or anything, and I think that would've helped their atmosphere, and customer comfort levels tremendously. We told our server that we were there JUST for dessert, yet she still placed bread sticks at our table. and these are not bread sticks that you'd expect to get at an Italian restaurant: OH MY GOD WHAT ARE THEY THINKING? These bread sticks come wrapped in PLASTIC wrappers, and they're tiny little HARD baby teething biscuit type bread sticks, and served with cold butter. This is joke right? DISGUSTING. First impressions mean A LOT to customers, if they really want to connect and win customers over, they would serve them something warm, and something that looks homemade, even if it's not homemade, make the customers think that it is. Warm makes them feel welcome, and homemade makes them feel like they are important, and valued, and like they're part of something special, like family. They are only disconnecting with customers right off the bat with these BABY type teething bread sticks, just gross. The people behind us are eating, and the wife is upset, she does not like her food, and that's when my kids tell me that something smells like dog food, and sure enough, I can smell it too. We were not quite ready to order when our server first approached us, and we asked for another minute, and I'm assuming she was the only server in the place, but over 10 minutes pass, and after feeling so awkward, and uncomfortable, we headed for the door, never to return, this place is a joke!

One of my favorite pizza joints. I've never been in the restaurant just the bar side. They have karaoke for those that want to just let it out (lol) and it's a 'chill' place.

LOVE this restaurant! Having grown up with my Italian mother and Nonna and having lived half my life in Europe I have a really hard time appreciating commercial "Italian" restaurants here in the US. That's why I love Vince's. It's authentic and fresh. The service is always wonderful and the food is always exceeding standards. The decor is rustic and classic and we are always greeted with a smile. Great place to bring your kids and they have large banquet rooms for large parties. I recommend the pizza- it is so addicting and they have so many options. Their pesto and minestrone soup also make it to my favorites list! And if you have room for dessert, the mocha cake is ridiculously good. We love supporting family businesses that take pride in their work and heritage. So as you walk in and wait to be seated, take a look at the beautiful vintage photos they have on the wall near the entrance and know that you are supporting a lovely family business instead of frozen chain food corporations!

This place is inside a strip mall with Reilly auto parts. There are about 15 tables in 2 different rooms. We were seated immediately and placed our drink order. The order of bruschetta came out and we were somewhat disappointed that it was basically roll sliced in hall with way too much oregano on it. The clams and linguini was excellent as were the eggplant and veal parmigiana were great as well. We did not have and dessert but we left with full bellies

A very inconspicuous place but don't judge this place by its cover. My friend and I were visiting from San Francisco and wanted a pizza. Nothing crazy, we ordered a sausage and cheese pizza to go. OMG it was so delicious. My friend said it was one of the better pizzas he's has in a long time. It was for me too. Everything to the crust to the tomato crushed sauce and uber cheesy topping, we loved every bit of it. We went again to sit indoors and it's perfect for big groups. This time I ordered the creamy pesto gnocchi and it was even more delicious than the pizza. They have fresh made bread that's complimentary with your meal so it's perfect to sop up that pesto sauce and enjoy every last bit of my meal. Very reasonable prices and great service!

just terrible! Went to get a pizza, paid $17.95 for a large pepperoni and it was just terrible. Costco has better pizza. First they use the little tiny round pepperoni like you find on cheap microwave pizzas, the rest just didn't have any flavor. Looking at it in the box, it looks like they use premade/preformed crust. Sauce tasted very much like what they use at Sbarro, and it tasted old. mozzarella had no flavor what so ever. If you are thinking of getting pizza here, please just go ANYWHERE else. There's a place up on 21st, Vinny's New York Pizza, you can get a hot and ready pepperoni, same size, $5 and it tastes MILES better. This is the second chance my husband was giving this place, his report? just as pathetic as ever. YUK!

Their pizza is awesome, Italian sodas super yummy, and you can't get a better plate of spaghetti and meatballs at a moderately priced restaurant. It's not necessarily authentic Italian however it is excellent Italian/ American and so much better than the old O' Garden!!

I went here for the first time for an early supper with a couple of friends yesterday and was very disappointed. The service was very good which gave this spot a second star but the food was only mediocre, the portions small and overpriced. I would not choose to go back there.

My husband and I used to love to eat here. They changed cooks multiple times and it shows. The pasta dishes are not as good as they were 4-5 years ago when we first started coming here. The pizza is greasy. The Margherita pizza left much to be desired. I don't think you could pay me to try to eat here again :( very disappointed!

I like small things. I like the color green. Pesto Gnocchi it is! Although service is a bit on the waning side, the food does a relatively ok job at making up for it. Minnestrone soup to go along with the main dish, or you can have a salad if you're opting for additional greens. I just really wish they had real bread instead of those cracker things.

My family has been eating at Vince's for more than 20 years! We used to frequent the Burien location, but since moving further south in 2012, now visit the Federal Way location more often. We also been known to visit the Renton location when we're in that area. Let's just say - we are typically there at least once every couple of weeks. The food at Vince's is consistent and the staff is friendly, especially once they get to know you as "regulars" (the folks at the Burien location even once helped my mom & dad push their car out of a parking spot when it snowed and they got stuck!) Vince's sauces are simple and tasty, and the pizza is hand tossed. Most meals come with either salad or minestrone soup, and a basket of fresh-baked bread. Look, the food at Vince's is not going to change your life, but it's "old school" Italian comfort food at it's best. Sometimes we just order a "Vince's Special" pizza for takeout. I've traveled and lived a lot of places, and Vince's Special (with olives - not peppers!) is one of the top 3 pizzas I've ever eaten.

  • G. Lynn S.

I would have to say this place was mediocre at best. The bread they served was cold. The calamari was a little fishy. The minestrone soup was tasty, but seemed watered down. My half spaghetti and ravioli was a bit salty and my Honey's Pollo Contadina was bland. However, staff made it enjoyable. They were very attentive with refilling our drinks and making sure we had everything. And for that I give this place a 3 star, but I don't think we'll be returning.

This is it! With all the different genres of food to be found in the Seattle area, it's been so long since I've had my "favorite" - Italian! I had the Pollo Marsala with side salad, creamy pesto (their version of ranch). It was the very best Marsala I've ever had. My dinning partner for the evening had Pollo Contadina and said it was amazing. Bread was served. There looked to be a good selection of Wine, Salads, Pizzas. I think next time I'm going to have to order desert! This is really a good old fashioned Italian Restaurant and it made me happy in my belly.

We had stopped coming to Vince's a few years ago due to continuous bad service but we decided to give them another chance. The other day we stopped and had a small Bianca Pizza (with sausage) and a Lasagna alla Napoletana. While it was not bad, we have had much better. The lasagna tasted bland and more out of a box than fresh made. The pizza was OK but the Garlic was too over powering (this coming from a garlic lover). Service was "OK" but I had to request refills on my water. I do enjoy the ambiance and overall it was a pleasant experience but there are better Italian places.

I am surprised to see all the good reviews of this place. I was with three other people who are far from picky and not one of us enjoyed our meals despite being famished. I think the quality was very poor. My boyfriend ordered some chicken dish with pasta and the pasta sauce tasted of poor quality(below Ragu or grocery store sauce). I had pizza( so greasy it was barely editble) eating spoofuls of olive oil would have been better. The salads were full of wilted lettuce and what we learned later after getting sick maybe never washed lettuce. We didnt complain about the food or anything to the restaurant but decided for the lack of quality and taste for the price we wouldnt return. To make matters worse, both my parents who had two different salads got extreme food poisoning later that evening. They were visiting from out of town and it sort of ruined their visit. I returned to the restaurant a few days later with my dad's receipt and informed a manager what happened. I kindly told her that their food made my family very ill and I wanted to let them know. She told me in disgust that nobody has ever ever gotten sick from the food there. She took it very personal. I am guessing nobody has let them know in the past that their food is less than stellar. I asked for her regular restaurant manager to call me or better yet the owner because i would like a refund. She said the most they would do is a gift certificate. Why would you want to return to a restaurant with poor quality food and that made half your family ill?!? No thanks. She was nice and took a copy of the receipt and my contact information. Days went by, no call. I called them twice and requested a call back. Nothing. Finally after two weeks a owner called me after I called three times and left some crappy voicemail with no call back number. I am disgusted on how they treat their customers especially when their food made them ill. No care or concern. I mean at the very least a refund is in order! I suggest looking elsewhere when you desiring some good Italian food or make your own. Ragu is better tasting.

Not sure what happened to Vince's at our last visit. My friends order a pesto pizza and the crust didn't seem done and there was oil everywhere. Our pasta sides seemed very bland and unseasoned. I know years ago we always had great food at Vince's. Maybe this was an off meal.

The food is expensive for what you will get. I ordered the Pizza (small) and the lasagna. The pizza is good I liked the pepperoni they were spicy but nothing to get excited about. The lasagna tastes like ravioli from a can-so I would not order it again. For dessert I had the cannoli (2) they were very grainy and dry. Not very good cannoli and expensive. For all I ate including one drink the order exceeded thirty dollars. I would not come here again because I feel that for the quality of the food the consumer is paying far too much.

Tried the pizza, and the grease just dribbled off of it. My husband had a pasta dish, the marinara had absolutely no flavoring and was watery.

After having traveled most of the day and heading back home from Oregon, my wife and I decided to hit up Vince's for dinner. We've been going to the Renton location for the last 8 years, and I've been to the Burien location for over 20 years, so I figured this would be the same. It has a good location right of Pacific Highway, and the size is good. It's a lot newer than the other locations, with newer decor. Read some of the previous reviews, where somebody was complaining the lighting was to dark, however my wife thought it was almost too bright, not as "romantic" as the Renton location anyway. We arrived and was greeted by woman, who said she would be right with us. Not sure what she was doing exactly, but we did have to wait for about 4-5 minutes before being served even though the place only had 2 other groups. Our waitress was a bit on the younger side and that being said, perhaps did not have much experience as a waitress. She was pleasant enough, but seemed to overlook some things that an experienced waitress would otherwise addressed. Example being, when she brought out the bread sticks she brought only 2 pats of butter. Now other people have complained that they think the little prepackaged hard bread sticks is an insult to an Italian restaurant but my wife actually likes them. The waitress did bring out a small basket of bread, but did not bring any additional butter. I had to get her attention and ask for more, and even then she brought only 4 more, which to me seemed a bit short. (I like large portions of butter with my bread). The other thing was the butter was rock hard and not very spreadable. My experience from other locations is that the butter is slightly cooled and spreadable. We usually order a Caesar salad and ask for 2 plates to begin with and follow it with the minestrone soup. You have a choice of soup or a garden salad with most entrees. The waitress brought out 2 small plates with the Caesar salad, and said that they split it in the kitchen for us already. You would think she was doing us a favor, however the portions seemed much smaller than we experienced at the other locations, so not much of a service really when you get less. The soup was hot and tasty, so no complaints there. It did take some time to get our entrees considering the other 2 groups had already been served and we ate our salad and soup, and my wife asked for additional bread sticks before we were served. My wife ordered Fettuccine Positano - Prawns sautéed in olive oil, garlic & spices with fresh tomatoes and a touch of cream ......which she thought actually tasted better than the Renton location's version that we had 2 weeks ago. I ordered the Pollo Marsala Tender chicken breasts and mushrooms with Marsala wine and cream, over fettuccine which was tasty, but seemed a little cold. We were pretty hungry as we had only eaten a very early breakfast and as my wife say's when you're hungry everything tastes good. Overall the food was good, could have been warm. The service, meh. Maybe needs more training? We like Vince's but not sure we'll be back to this location any time soon.

So my friend said this was good pizza. We came for lunch. We ordered the only pizza offered with meat-weird. Out of 4 or 5 pizzas only one had meat. Carry on. I got a side salad. Blue cheese. While we waited we were given hard half breadsticks circa 1975 in wrappers and several pads of wrapped cold butter. What the hell do we do with this? My companion said we unwrap our breadsticks, unwrap our butter and scrape the breadsticks in the butter. Really? I did. Not feeling it. It was weird. The salad arrived. It was lame. Flat on the plate, nothing more than greens and dressing. The dressing was more tangy than it should have been We were also served some bread at the same time and more butter. The bread was cold and the butter was hard. It could not be spread. After all this I already knew how the pizza would be. I was right. It sucked. The sauce lacked body and flavor. The toppings were meh, except the pepperoni which was good. The crust was meh. Overall, I am glad I tried it because I like trying new places but I will never go back nor will I recommend this place to anyone. I should have taken my friend to monster burger since we were in the area! Monster burger rules!

Hot and cold first time, but worth another try for the awesome looking pizza. My gnocchi was great, the carbonara was served on boxed spaghetti. The carbonara sauce was light, yet creamy with great bacon taste even with few pieces scattered throughout the dish. The loaf of bread was ice cold, served with rock hard butter, and had no taste (good or bad). The cannoli are served in 2's and were filled with a almond flavored ricotta and drizzles with drizzles of chocolate mixed in. It looked like mini-chocolate chips, but melted instantly - brilliant! The pop was OK, the iced tea weak, but the service was spot on! The pizzas at the next table were mouth watering and we grabbed a take out menu to give this a drive by try sometime on the way back from Seattle :-)!

We just moved to town a short time ago, still getting a feel for how it flows here in the frozen Northland. Vince's was a terrific find! Home-made minestrone, pasta puttanesca (perfectly al dente!), terrific service, clean as a pin... Do yourself a favor, if you should be in the area and hungry for some REAL Italian food. You won't regret it!

In my opinion, this Vince's was terrible! I assumed ( by mistake ) that we would enjoy a meal as tasty and enjoyable as that which we know from the Renton Highlands location. Food flavor: Two stars, Portion size: One star, Service: HALF a star!! Never again... If the owner or manager has any explanation to offer, I am open to hear it.

I went here and I'd love to give it 5 stars but I found the sauce to be way too salty for my tastes. The Italian Restaurant is about the pasta sauce! The meatballs were good and favorable once I knocked the salty sauce off of them. The pizza was good for West Coast pizza. They needed a different consistency and bake to the top of the cheese to get it to the NY Standards with bigger slices and individual slices would be a good option too! But for West Coast you can't complain. I loved the little breadstick things in the package and the butter. Neat idea. Their actual bread was good too with the butter packets. Overall the service and atmosphere was nice. I might go back but I don't know! I'd like to explore some other places first. As a cook myself I am picky but not overly on flavor. One of my biggest pet peeves is over salting to compensate for flavor.

Passing through town and wanted some Italian.... Olive Garden was packed, so we headed the other way. Upon entering, happy to see no line and no one waiting to be seated. This was about 6pm on a Friday night, which I suppose, should have been the first clue. Seated promptly and pleasantly surprised to see what looked like a nice dining room, and not the typical "sports bar" decor I'm accustomed to. Not impressed with the hard ass breadsticks. Kind of a bizarre touch, in plastic wrap and served with butter no less (The butter acts as lubricant to help the dry sticks go down easier). Entrees included a choice of minestrone soup or salad... we did salads. Could've had a better assortment of veggies, rather than just lettuce with a few thin carrot shavings. The balsamic dressing was tasty, albeit applied a little too heavily leaving a nice pool of dressing on the plate when it was finished. I had the Pollo Contadina, whilst my partner had the spaghetti/ravioli combo. My dish contained artichokes, chicken and mushrooms in a creamy wine sauce served over fettucine. It looked great upon arrival, but was highly underwhelming. The sauce was hard to discern, being neither creamy or having much of a wine flavor. Not much flavor at all really, but was notably VERY salty. After a few bites, I squeezed a lemon over it to revive the lacking dish...it helped. But I was done eating after just a few more bites. We may come back to try the pizza here, but the pasta dishes, we both agreed, ranked about 6 on a scale of 1-10. For the price, it could be better.

The Olive Garden has better lasagna. Their pizza is okay. Basically, I won't eat here again, unless there is no other place to eat.

Pretty tasty. Their prices have gone up though and I don't think they should for the quality. I think it is weird that their speghetti doesn't come with meatballs. Their Half Spaghetti & Half Ravioli is really good together.

three stars is what I am giving this place mainly because of the fast and friendly staff I did like the pizza I had it was tasty but I did not like that choices really for their combination preorder favorites . the pepperoni was to oily for my taste .I don't really like pork but have eaten a bit more than I normally do lately so the bacon I had on the pizza was not another one of my favorites . the black olive and other vegetables on the pizza were good as was the crust . I did enjoy the beer I got it drowned out the taste of the pork . the price was OK too . the wait staff did a great job keeping the drinks filled and checking on if we need anything else.

We love Vinces food. The taste of the food is way better than your run of the mill chain italian food restaurant. Unless you like the cheesey overload and bland sauces from the chain restaurants. Vinces is your neighborhood italian home cooked food kind of place. It's not a gourmet restaurant, if you want that you will have to go elsewhere. However the food particularly the spaghetti putanesca is the best I have had anywhere. The salad and bread sticks are very mediocre but the entrees are really good and reasonably priced for Italian food.

Great food, friendly service, friendly prices. I come here on my birthday I like it so much. I noticed some reviews are perhaps critical of this restaurant and I'd like to say what I think of the place. It's casual italian family dining, and with that in mind, all of my expectations are met and I leave happy. It's nice inside, charming even, but it's not foo-foo up-scale. And the food is hearty and tasty. It's not fancy gourmet cuisine, it's yummy italian food. Come here to feed the family. I like this place. Oh yeah, and they have real spumoni. :)

Occasion: Dinner for 2 This is a casual small restaurant that is clean. The bathrooms were good (ie. clean, moderate looking, etc.) It usually is 50%+ occupied at prime time dinner. They provide courtesy bread sticks which are prepackaged with packaged butter slices. Their pasta dishes are average at best. Their pizza's are hand tossed, they use fresh ingredients, and they give very large portions for the toppings. For you meat lovers, they use real Italian sausage and pepperoni. If you're not coming here for their pizza, I'm not really sure what entree attractions you would be. The service staff is very nice, but they can be on the poor side and potentially pretty slow. It's a coin flip on whether or not they follow orders, because there has been times they've forgotten to refill my wife's soda or they take forever to get the take-home packaging. This restaurant is part of the Passport Unlimited Dining Membership, so take advantage of their 2:1 on the large pizzas.

I have always had amazing food that this place. The waitstaff are really nice and very helpful. The decor is classic American Italian restaurant but feels very homy and welcoming.

I'd never been to Vince's before and basically everyone I know has, so finally this week I went to the one in Federal Way. The restaurant is small, casual, comfy, and family friendly - there was basically a child at every table except ours. The worst part of the night was this loud girl sitting at the table across from us that was broadcasting her apartment-hunting experience for the whole restaurant to hear, but I assure you I did not take any stars off because of that. We went on a Monday and they had a Monday special, which was something like a pizza, two sides of pasta, two salads, and two ice creams for $17. We didn't get that, but it seemed like it was a really good deal! Our waitress was really nice, she was friendly and attentive. We got those cracker-like bread sticks with butter once we were seated. I ordered the closest thing to fettucine alfredo that I could find and my boyfriend ordered chicken marsala. We both got salads with their creamy pesto dressing a.k.a. their version of ranch. It's like a lighter version of ranch and you can really taste the pesto, I liked it! Our pasta came out with bread, I didn't think we would get any since they list garlic bread as an additional side but the white bread they served was so soft and good. Unfortunately, I didn't really like the fettucine dish because it had a lot of black pepper on it and that was all I tasted. But I'm kind of hard to please when it comes to fettucine alfredo, my favorite is from Olive Garden...lol. My boyfriend, on the other hand, LOVED his chicken marsala. I'm quite the dessert gal, so I made sure to order something. I'm a huge fan of spumoni when it doesn't have chunks of cherries/nuts in it and was tempted to order a scoop. I asked our waitress of their spumoni had the dreaded chunks in it and to my dismay, she said it did. I ordered their tiramisu mousse instead. They serve the mousse in a champagne flute and it's very creamy, with the perfect amount of coffee flavor and sweetness. I thought the lady fingers were a bit too soaked, but it was a good dessert nonetheless.

We went here for Father's Day dinner. It was only a 5 min wait to be seated. I found it very strange that they had packaged bread sticks on the table with butter. They did bring out bread which was really good. The salad was okay, just lettuce a few carrot slices and dressing. I ordered a seafood entree and was very pleased. My family ordered a pizza and loved it. The service was pretty good. A couple times the server forgot our drinks and had to go back but she was very nice and quick. I think if they got rid of the bread sticks and spruced up the salad a bit the overall impression they give would improve.

First, we had an Entertainment coupon, so why not try it? When we arrived coupon was useless. It was BOGO for an entree under $12, which was slim pickings on this menu. Them, the waitress had never seen a coupon on a smart phone so she, "Had to ask someone about it," Which she apparently never did? At any rate, I ordered the Oriachetti with Greens and Italian Sausage, it was described as "slightly spicy" which was spot on. I don't really do spicy, I order about a 2 star when there's a choice, IT WAS PERFECT! So Delicious! My husband had the Spaghetti Caprese, Cheesy, pork (described as Ham, more like Pancetta) was fabulous! Salad, was simple, but good. Bread was homemade and SO GOOD. As far as the hard bread sticks served prior to the meal, I am a fan. When I was growing up we frequented an Italian place, and they were what I would consider Traditional. We liked it so much, we went on a Saturday, and the following Monday we returned! The second night, they had an awesome Monday night special, 2 Soup or Salad, 2 side orders of pasta and a small 1 topping pizza for $17, a great way to sample the offerings. We did not order this however. I had the combo, Spaghetti and Ravioli, with Marinara and Italian Sausage. I started with the soup, their take on Minestrone, It was awesome, fresh tasting and full of veggies. When my entree arrived it seemed TINY, Looks were deceiving, I couldn't even finish it, and it was DELICIOUS. My Husband had the Fettuccine Carbonara, He was thrilled with it, I tried a bite and it was so rich and yummy. We are counting this as our new go to place for meeting people and celebrating occasions. 5 stars

Been going to Vince's in Renton and Federal Way for a while and returned back after couple of years. Well prices went up and portion shrunk - no longer the fave family Italian restaurant it used to be... Gnocchi was good with pesto sauce but what's the deal with TINY portions and high price for dish without meat? Pasta with mussels was very tasty and pasta was cooked just right but little splash of olive oil would have been nice and again tiny portion for what they charge. But service was very good.

I love a good value, I love fresh cooked to order food, and absolutely love, love good service! Vince's scored 5 STARS in all categories! Lunchtime: $5.99 specials! WOW!! Talk about a great deal! I ordered the lil pizza and the antipasto (meat, veggies & cheese platter ). Generous portions on selections and you get bread sticks & bread AND bread! WOW! My server Tiffany was a sweet as could be, she was the topper of the 5th star! Everyone in the place seemed happy and helpful. There were many in the place dining... Clean, fresh, happy, happy, JOY, JOY for my tummy & wallet!

I used to frequent the Vince's in Renton a few years back before I moved, so I assumed the Vince's in Federal Way would be roughly the same. Boy, was I wrong! First, we ordered the bruschetta to start out. Out of five of us, only the two guys bothered to try it and they both proclaimed it was disgusting. Not much more than a chunk of bread with some sliced tomatoes and too much Italian seasoning mix thrown on top. No toasting, no olive oil, no nothing. Next, our salads showed up. Iceberg lettuce with three olives. The most disappointing salad I've ever been served. The dressing was obviously not shaken before serving because it was completely separated. And the bread that finally arrived at our table, barely browned on the outside and very bland. Finally, after quite a long wait, our food arrived. I ordered the gnocchi with meat sauce and mozzarella. The rest of the table ordered lasagna, spaghetti and meatballs, eggplant parmesan and spaghetti carbonara. All of the dishes we ordered were simple, typical Italian dishes. Not difficult to get right. The three of us with the meat sauce all agreed it tasted like Chef Boyardee. Straight from the can. The mozzarella they piled on top of my gnocchi (which tasted like globs of over mashed potatoes instead of fluffy pillows), was definitely Kraft. The eggplant parmesan was nothing to write home about and the carbonara went more than half untouched. Even though most of us had quite a bit of food left, none of it went home. As it was a birthday celebration, we ordered dessert. Cannolis and profiteroles. One of my friends said the cannoli cream tasted like laundry detergent. The chocolate syrup on the profiteroles was most definitely Hershey, and almost all of it was left on the table, uneaten. Even the server we had, bless her heart, was very unenthusiastic about her work. She remembered our orders right, but was not in the mood to chat or joke with us. I'd have to say the best part of the meal was my Chianti. And the moment we left.

I've been coming here for a long time. I can not find any other restaurant that has better minestrone soup than here. The marinara sauce is fantastic as well. The only complaint I have is that the service isn't very good sometimes. Other than that no complaints. I definitely recommend it.

Well the only thing good about this place is that they were really nice. Everything else was a huge let down. We sit down and they bring bread sticks to the table. Not fresh. Packaged little sticks that taste worse than a teething biscuit. Oh and cubes of individually wrapped butter, as if that would help?? We ordered bruschetta for an appetizer. My husband ordered a calzone and I went with Fettuccine Alfredo with grilled chicken. I got the house salad with balsamic dressing. Everything we had was awful or a let down. Like the bruschetta wasn't bad just something I could have made at home. Buttered french bread with sliced tomatoes and Italian seasoning sprinkled all over. The calzone had sweetened ricotta cheese, maybe for the cannolis? It was like they baked a pizza and half way through they folded it in half to make it a "calzone". My salad was iceberg lettuce and balsamic with 3 olives. Then my fettuccine wasn't all that bad if you don't mind a heavy onion taste. Seriously we couldn't get out fast enough! Sorry but next time I am going to Olive Garden.

2 thumbs down!! I am not a fan. I cant believe how many good reviews on this place! Where do I begin #1 I swear I waited 45 minutes or close to an hour for my food "oh" and not to forget that it took them about 20 minutes just to take my order! this place sucks.....now I know your probably saying to yourself "your dumb for waiting that long" but i was with my finance on our anniversary and I had the day all planned out I couldn't just bail without a back up plan #2 The food aint even good and the prices are like "whoa you cant be serious" 15 coins for a bowl of spaghetti!!! get the F*** outta here with all that... ILL admit that Im cheap but I dont mind paying 20 dollors a meal for GOOD food but Vince's Italian Garbage doesn't have that... your better off Grabbing a Stoffers from safe way or something

The 5 stars are only for their Margherita Pizza and nothing else. It is ABSOLUTELY perfect - just the tastiest tomato sauce and perfect amount of mozzarella cheese with fresh basil. Delicious. I always order it as takeout because honestly, I don't like eating at the restaurant because of the slow service and, well, none of the other food is up to par with that pizza. But seriously, get the margherita.

It's totally American Italian, but we loved it when we were kids (and still enjoy it now) and every once and awhile we get a hankering for Pizza Bianca and have to dive into the memories! Better food (and better for you) than Olive Garden. I'm just sayin!

  • Angelina L.

Ah, Vince's... Memories... Good news is, it looks as if they have remolded since I was there last. Which I would hope so since it's been over 15 years. I think that the main reason why this place got 3 stars is because their pizza is AMAZINGLY GOOD. Entered the place looking for the rest of the party... Something is wrong.. I'm the one who has the furthest to drive, yet I'm here first and on time... What's up with that?? Joking, I know not to expect "being on time" with this crew! Alright, I'll sit in the bar and have a drink while waiting for all the others to show up. Pull up a stool and ask for a Side Car. I get a deer in the headlights look and the question, "What's that"? I explain... Brandy or Cognac, Cointreau or Triple Sec, Lemon or Lime juice and a sugared rim. She then asks me what Cointreau or Triple Sec is, um liquor that has an orange flavor. She returns to where the liquor is stored and starts searching... REALLY?? Well, in the end, I got a drink that was somewhat close. It tasted decent, so it worked. All throughout this, all I could think was when I was at another place up in Seattle where the bartender said, any good bartender should know how to make a side car, it's a classic. Second round with the bartender... One of the other people in the party shows up and she asks what Vodka they have on hand (she happens to be a vodka snob and she'll admit it). The bartender goes through the list & she settled for one of them. Ok, so they don't have the best liquor selection and they aren't soo talented in making drinks. The bar area did have a dance floor, so either they have DJs on certain nights or karaoke or both???? Well, after we all had arrived, we slowly make our way into the dining area. By the way, you can't transfer your bill from the bar into the dining room. We were seated promptly and the waiter was very pleasant and patient since we continued talking for a period of time prior to even looking at the menus. The only hiccup was, there's a point in time when you notice that the menus have not moved, that'd I'd hope he would have gotten the picture that we weren't ready to order yet. You can go overboard in returning to the table asking if we were ready yet. If they were packed, which they were not, or it was close to closing time, then I'd understand the rush to get us served and out, but this was not the case!!! The pizza would be the only reason why I'd return!!! Well, that or I was desperate for food in Federal Way and I'm not that familiar with places to eat there anymore. Who knows when that will be though, since I try to avoid Federal Way like the plague!!!

I'll start by saying I'm a sucker for Italian food, and as I don't often get REALLY GOOD Italian food, I'm probably a bit of a rube when it comes to evaluating it. Take this review with a grain of salt, understanding that anywhere I find hard breadsticks and butter sort of scrambles my brain with happiness. A group of eight arrived after dark for dinner on a Saturday. The place wasn't very busy. I was hoping to sit in one of the large, comfy boothes in the front, but no, we were taken all the way to the back room (and not the swanky romantic room, but the other back room with a half open floor and the mis-matched paint on the walls where they tried to touch up but used a pain that's a slightly different color and a different sheen than what is on the wall). We all looked like reasonable, upstanding citizens, I'm not sure what warranted relegating us to back of the house. Service was slow, especially for such a slow night. This didn't bother us as we were hanging out and socializing with friends. But water glasses sat empty for a long time, and I got no warm and fuzzies from our server, either. The food is warm, plentiful and yummy, though. Salads were cold, crisp and with a good balance of flavors. Breadsticks were warm and fluffy, with a touch of salt and garlic and a sweet and tangy marinara for dipping. I ordered the three cheese ravioli w/ meat sauce and meatballs. The sauce was thick and rich, with just enough tomato substance and good spices. The meatballs were of a good texture and flavor. And the ravioli were fantastic pockets of cheesy goodness. And there were a lot of them; I only finished half the entree. Spaghetti Carbonara got raves, and was HUGE; my husband had a dish that was a creamy sauce with chicken, artichoke hearts, mushrooms, etc. over spaghetti and he cleaned his plate up happily. A few diners got chicken dishes which failed mostly in their presentation. While they came with a side of pasta, that was served first, so when the entree arrived it was what appeared to be very small pieces of chicken served on a small dish. It just didn't seem like something worth paying $18 for. Overall it might have been... but to serve them that way tells me someone in the kitchen has forgotten about the importance of presentation. One at our table got a simple cheese pizza, and said it was as a simple cheese pizza should be. I'll go again. But I might be a little more demanding of the service staff (telling them where I want to sit, etc.).

I went here on a night when my fiance and his football buds took over the house. I had my book and I was completely content to eat a good Italian dinner solo. The service was ok. I wasn't waiting for attention but I did feel like I was taking up a table and in their way (even though there were a ton of empty spots). The unforgivable thing was the food. The pasta sauce was bland and the garlic bread was undercooked and way dry. I can overlook the slightly dirty tablecloth and the dingy atmosphere, but It is an Italian restaurant, they should probably serve good Italian food. And yeah bob r. that pop was expensive! I didn't give it 1 star because I didn't try the pizza, and apparently from the other reviews the pizza is good. I'll give them the benefit of the doubt but I doubt I will go back and give it a try.

Well let me start by saying I havent been to Vinces in about 7 years and last night I remembered why! First let me start by saying the staff is VERY friendly and we were seated right away. This place has old school charm including red checkered plastic table cloth and fake brick walls all in all remenisent of a 70's Italian joint. But it ends there starters we ordered were salad (their version of ranch) and minestrone soup. The salad was just an ok green salad and dressing was nothing to write home about but the soup was posibly old dish water?? It consisted of some clearish flavored liquid with bits of tomato and a ton of cabbage I'm glad i ordered a cup and it was carelessly just dumped in this cup with liquid poured all over and pooled in the saucer so it al ready looked slopy. NASTY! next the anti-pasta plater and it look like the picture posted by the other reviewer again ok im sure it was meats that you can get from Sysco. Again ok posable the highlight of this experience. Now the entree my son had spagetti with meat balls (figured you cant go wrong??) I was wrong meat ball were ok but spagetti was watery and the sauce was posably just crushed tomatos needless to say he didnt eat it. His mother had some breaded chicken dish with fettucini alfredo Thick thick thick sauce. I had pork osso buco with penne this dish looked like it was thrown together literaly stuff on the rim of plate and a hunk of pork hock just off center but i gave it a try anyways more I ate the more sick to my stomach i felt cant believe I paid 16.95 for this shit I still feel sick just thinking I ate some of this garbage. I understand that you cannot make osso buco ala minute but this stuff tasted like it sat in the back of the walk in uncovered for far too long. So in conclusion I will not be going back at least not for another 7 years anyways.

Good value for decent food. Pizza is the standout of the menu. Ingredients are fresh and they help to give the pizza a nice subtle flavor. Business was a little slow when I stopped in, but I'd give them another shot if I were in the area and looking for a pizza.

Came here with my girlfriend and we split the bruschetta and fettucini alfredo, and had tiramisu mousse for dessert. We really liked the setting and atmosphere of the place. It felt like we were sitting in a local restaurant in Italy. Basically the food was really good and tasted very authentic. The alfredo however was a bit too creamy, but still good. The bruschetta was amazing and we really enjoyed the mousse. We wished they gave us more mousse though... you're given very little for the price. Overall, it was a pleasant experience. The decor definitely made it a fun date night with my girlfriend. I wish more restaurants would create more authentic-like settings. I will definitely be returning!

Came here with some of my God daughter's family. We had a pre-ordered kind of buffet like style. But it was delicious! :) I'd recommend coming here. It's kind of tucked in the corner, but so worth it if you want some good Italian in Federal Way. :)

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
